The Energy Leadership™ Index Assessment

Get ready to radically change your approach to work and life.

The Energy Leadership™ Index

The Energy Leadership™ Index (ELI) assessment is the proprietary, research-backed assessment tool that takes something abstract, like the way a person views the world, and turns it into something tangible—a metric that you can see and feel and even reevaluate in the future. And, it’s only available through an iPEC Certified Coach.

You’re probably familiar with personality tests like Myers Briggs, DiSC, and Enneagram.

These valuable tools can help you understand your strengths, embrace your weaknesses, and discover how you can work to your full potential. In that way, they typically support a “work with what you have” approach to adapting your behavior and pursuing personal excellence.

The ELI, on the other hand, is an attitudinal assessment tool that captures how an individual currently perceives and approaches work and life. With the awareness and insights gained through the Energy Leadership Index debrief, clients have the opportunity to reshape their attitudes and worldview and “transform who they are.”

The Energy Leadership™ Index assessment can be given at the start of a coaching relationship and as a regular follow up assessment to provide tangible, research-backed ROI data for any coaching engagement.

Change the way you view the world, approach problems, and engage with others.

When combined with the personally-tailored Energy Leadership Index debrief, the ELI assessment can help you look closely at where (and how) you’re investing your energy. In this way, you’ll be able to make a plan and adjust your priorities in support of your work and life goals.

These insights, along with added coaching through iPEC’s Energy Leadership Development System, often boosts productivity, communication, and morale among employees. As an individual, you’re likely to see transformations in your relationships, confidence level, and leadership skills.

In essence, Energy Leadership will help you lead by example, with power, purpose, and passion.

The 360 ̊ Feedback System
A 360° feedback tool is a process by which multiple people in your life rate you according to
their observations of you. These raters can come from any aspect of your life. In a debrief, the coach looks at the combined results of all raters and gives the client feedback on what they said, and shows them the comparison against how they rated themselves. Usually, the more raters the client has, the more accurate the picture is.

By doing a 360, you can understand how you are seen through others’ eyes, and how well your intentions and image are coming across. Most importantly, the information you receive from your raters offers you many opportunities to improve your performance on the job, as well as to improve the relationships, themselves.

Catabolic vs. Anabolic Energy

You’re probably very familiar with catabolic energy and don’t even know it.

The leader who’s always in a bad mood, who creates tension wherever they go? That’s catabolic energy in a nutshell. This energy of worry, frustration, and blame is ultimately destructive and if left unchecked, can create a depressing, toxic environment.

In contrast, anabolic energy is constructive and fuels creativity. Someone operating in the anabolic energy range has the ability to motivate and inspire others to do extraordinary things, influence positive outcomes, and create incredible change within every area of their life.

Energy influences how we act because it forms the “lens” through which we perceive the world.

For example, if you go to a concert after a long, hard day at work, your experience probably won’t be the same as it would be if you were going after a relaxing vacation. You might decide those screaming fans are annoying instead of just enthusiastic!

We use seven different energy “levels” to describe the types of energy a person experiences and expresses. Here’s how someone experiencing each level of energy might react in a situation where they are on a team with a co-worker who is very forceful and directive.

Experience more energy, enthusiasm, and passion in your life.

Once the results are in, your ELI-MP will guide you through a 1:1 Energy Leadership Index debrief session. Through this personalized session, you’ll discover the percentage of each of the 7 energy levels that you typically experience under stress and also under “normal” conditions.

You’ll also discover your Average Resonating Level of Energy (A.R.L.), which represents the average of all your energy levels, under normal conditions and in reaction to stressful circumstances. You’ll gain insights into where (and how) you’re investing your energy and discover a clear path to your work and life goals—and likely, a higher A.R.L.

A study from over 30,000 participants show that people with higher A.R.L.’s are statistically more satisfied with all aspects of their lives—from relationships and personal freedom to communication skills and leadership ability.

Forbes Coaches Council recommends the ELI Assessment as “...one assessment they highly recommend executives take.”
